The story
Ten years, three chapters
I've been arranging spaces since I was a child. A builder, but always from a concept first. When I started working for myself in 2014, I moved that approach into physical spaces. Here's how it unfolded.

2017 — 2023 · CHAPTER ONE
Studio Pistache
In 2017, my business partner and I opened Hotel Pistache. Other hospitality founders started coming to us with their own projects. That's how Studio Pistache came to be: a hospitality studio that builds independent boutique hotels from concept to opening. We didn't just do interiors — we built the brand identity, the guest experience, the operational systems, the website.
Projects: Hotel Pistache, Kith & Kin Boutique Apartments, Hotel Bries, Hotel Kobalt, Boutique Hotel Anegang, Basecamp Amsterdam. Hospitality taught me how a space needs to work, not just look.

2021 — PRESENT · CHAPTER TWO
Norm Studio Interiors
In 2021, I founded Norm Studio. I wanted to work on my own, on projects with a clear beginning and end, where I could use everything I'd built: concept, design, project management, all in one place. Residential work, full renovations from design through realisation. I run the whole arc, not just the design part.
What I'm after is interiors that last. Not over-designed, not imposing a look. I listen, and I build from what actually fits.

NOW · CHAPTER THREE
Renovations for Expats
My first expat clients came through I am Expat. Every conversation was variations on the same story: people with demanding jobs, trying to renovate a Dutch house without the language, the network, or a clear sense of how things work here. What they wanted wasn't different from my other clients. What they needed was a different path to get there.
Working with expats across the Netherlands, with a focus on Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Eindhoven, and Hilversum.
